MBE900 guide - Mercedes-Benz mbe 900 engine information

MBE 900

MBE 900 is manufactured specifically for the demanding North American medium-duty truck market by Mercedes-Benz. The MBE900 is offered in both four and six-cylinder versions, with ratings available from 170 to 330 horsepower and up to 1000 LB FT of torque. The MBE900’s high torque at low RPM is ideal for automatic transmissions. Key features of the MBE900 include: extended service intervals for the lube, fuel and cooling system, reducing costs and downtime; high torque at low RPM for more usable, productive power with fewer gearshifts; best-in-class engine braking; class-leading power-to-weight ratio for excellent vehicle performance and increased payloads; easy to use electronic controls for engine and truck protection, including self-diagnostics for troubleshooting.

The MBE 900, Detroit Diesels answer to the medium-duty truck market, is manufactured in Mannheim, Germany and has been in production since 1996. Currently, there are over 250,000 units in service worldwide. Over 17,000 of these units are operating in NAFTA. Detroit Diesel Corporation, along with its Distributors, has teamed up with Freightliner LLC Dealers to provide the same sales support, new and remanufactured parts support, and service capability that our Series 60 customers prefer. - MBE 900
