MBE 4000
The MBE 4000 became available to the Class 8 truck market through
Detroit Diesel Corporation. The MBE 4000, manufactured in São Paulo
Brazil, is now being supported by Detroit Diesel's world renowned support
network that Series 60 customers prefer.
The MBE 4000 is a in-line six-cylinder engine with ratings available
from 350 - 450 horsepower and up to 1,550 LB FT of torque. The MBE 4000,
weighing just 2,040 lbs., gives Detroit Diesel a heavy-duty engine that
can be targeted to regional distribution, vocational, and bulk-haul applications.
The MBE 4000 is currently featured in Freightliner's FL 112, Columbia
and Century S/T. Additionally the MBE 4000 engine can be found in Sterling's
A & L Lines and Western Star's 4900 chassis.
Manufactured by Mercedes-Benz, the MBE4000 offers the best combination
of performance, fuel economy, cost of operation, reliability, driver satisfaction,
ease of service, warranty satisfaction and long life, all in a lightweight
package. The MBE4000 is an in-line six-cylinder engine with ratings available
from 350 - 450 horsepower and up to 1,550 LB FT of torque. Weighing just
2,117 lbs., this is a heavy-duty engine designed for regional distribution,
vocational, and bulk-haul applications.
