Freightliner Coronado 2000
- Present
Advantages - Freightliner's top-of-the-line heavy-duty truck,
premium noise abatement package, 50-degree wheel cut for great turning
radius, batteries located between frame rails for easy access, two-piece
curved windshield reduces replacement cost, air filtration system purifies
air, ac system has 17 outlets, bolt-on fenders can be replaced individually,
reducing repair costs, headlamps use off-the-shelf long life halogen bulbs
that require no tools for replacement.
Disadvantages - ceased production then restarted
due to plummeting truck sales market which may make used unit's pricey,
steel chrome bumper is designed to resist rock chips but can be a cleaning
headache, susceptible to scratching

Freightliner Century Class S/T 2000
- Present
Advantages - Freightliners Century Class S/T is the companies
most technologically advanced truck to date, self-adjusting clutch, aerodynamic
hood decreases drag and improves fuel economy, strong, lightweight hood
and fender components reduce weight, allowing for increased payload, proprietary
front and rear cab mounting system tuned to reduce road vibration
Disadvantages - aerodynamic three-piece bumper
not offered in chrome
Notes - first North American Class 8 truck cab
to meet or exceed rigorous Swedish and European ECE R-29 crash test requirements,
available as day cab, 34" mid-roof, 48" mid-roof, 58" mid-roof,

Freightliner Columbia 2003
- Present
Advantages - available in a 112 or 120 bumper to back
of cab (BBC) , self-adjusting clutch, aerodynamic hood decreases drag
and improves fuel economy, strong, lightweight hood and fender components
reduce weight, allowing for increased payload, 21-setting ac and heat
system, Power Distribution Module is located in the dash and can be reached
from passenger seat, for quick access to fuses.
Disadvantages - aerodynamic three-piece bumper

Notes - Columbia was purchased by more fleets than
any other Class 8 truck in the industry in 2004, available as day cab,
34" mid-roof, 48" mid-roof, 58" mid-roof, 70" mid-roof,
70" mid-roof xt, 70" raised roof, Columbia 112 is shorter in
length by 8 inches than the 120 configuration and features a setback front
axle and an up-to-50 degree wheel cut to optimize maneuverability

Freightliner Classic and Classic XL
2000 - Present
Advantages - Freightliners Classic and Classic XL has an
aluminum cab and lightweight components for greater payloads and fuel
economy due to the 120" BBC Classic and 132" BBC. Advanced,
lightweight design of AirLiner rear suspension reduces road vibration,
maintenance-free rubber bushings. A tilt hood and see-through fluid reservoirs.
A functional cab with an ergonomically designed wraparound dash, easy-to-read
instrument panel gauges, as well as clearly identified switches. Advanced
climate control, spacious driving area allowing for room to stretch, and
easy access to the sleeper. Under-bunk storage.
Disadvantages - squared-up chrome bumper and grill.
Notes - Standard Driftwood Burl dash or optional
Rosewood finish. Available in flat, mid or raised-roof configurations.
